This new collection of 36 tunes contains harp arrangements of 12 marches,
12 strathspeys, and 12 reels. The tunes are arranged for playing alone
or in sets. Each tune is provided in at least two keys, including one in
a simplified arrangement of the tune.
Some of these tunes appear on Jo's recordings, including one from The Three Musics and nine from A Waulking Tour of Scotland. Additional materials include suggestions for making tune sets, notes about the tunes, and a listing of recordings of the included tunes.
The best recommendation I can offer is the introduction to Jo Morrison's
fine collection, "The Morrison Scottish Repertoire Book."
The 3 pages of intro alone are worth the price of the book... plus, you get
36 arrangements: 12 each of marches, strathspeys and reels. Each tune
appears in at least 2 keys and 2 "levels of challenge."
This book is a must for Scottish harping, whether as a repertoire source or
a reference for making your own versions of the arrangements. Do check it
